Escaped from the in-laws for the afternoon after assuring everyone that the
forecast was perfect and it would be criminal not to go out. There were a
few out when I got there but the ominous kites were prevalent (that's a
sure sign of crap wind at Bigbury).
Rigged the 5.4 on the strength of the afternoon's forecast but opted for
the extra float of the freestyle board. Shot out and planed right through
to the back, gybed and planed back in again. Unfortunately that was it.
Black clouds threatened to bring squalls but nothing really happened, at
one point I was blobbing all the way back in and I could see the wind 50 m
upwind of me but never actually fill in all the way - very frustrating.
Gave it up as a bad job and to cap it all I've managed to crack the nose of
my board.
